She walks upon the land that’s engulfed her and across the street that used to bear witness to her magnificent stream, now wearing fluid fabric streams of her own. Her dress is inspired by the Walbrook River - two tributaries running as the sleeves that meet at the back to recreate the cascading flow of the river. Shadow, a recurring character in the artist's practice, originates from her 'Shadow and Light' series. Represents the unconscious (dressed in white), whilst Light represents the conscious (dressed in black) - the colours of the two characters are inversed to bring about a new understanding of each one and challenge the negative preconceptions we hold of the subconscious.
